It has become a growing trend to see smartphone brands known for affordable devices punch above their weight with new devices that would be described as a move to the flagship spectrum. This began with TECNO ad now Infinix seems to be on its way as well.
This was made clear during the launch of the Infinix Zero X lineup on September 13. As expected, the firm did not hesitate in reminding everyone that the three smartphones are flagships offering some really new specifications that we haven’t seen from the brand before. Infinix Zero X, Zero X Pro and Zero Neo were the devices that stole the show after much anticipation from tech enthusiasts.

By the name, you can tell that this is the jewel on the crown and the specs list screams that even more.

The smartphone features some really high-end specs including a new 108MP triple camera module that features OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation). Alongside the big lens is an 8MP ultrawide lens with a 120-degree field of view and an 8MP periscope lens.
The two lenses are a common factor in the lineup as they are also on the Zero X and Zero X Neo. As for the main cameras, the Zero X feature a 64MP lens as the Zero X Neo comes in with a 48MP main camera but without OIS.
Selfies are catered for by the 16MP punch-hole camera that’s on all three models. The cheapest of the bunch, Zero X Neo features a 6.78-inch LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a 180Hz touch sampling rate. The other two feature 6.67-inch AMOLED 120Hz screens with a 240Hz sampling rate.
Beneath the chassis of all three models is a MediaTek Helio G95 chipset and Mali G76 MC4 GPU. 8GB of RAM is the standard for all three paired with the devices coming in either 128GB or 256GB storage options.
The two big siblings, the Zero X and Zero X Pro are then powered up by a 4500mAh battery that supports TUV Rheinland certified 45W fast charging.
With that extensive list, you can tell that Infinix is trying to make an ambitious move to a price range that they haven’t explored before. However, many would agree that getting to those heights would require having something better than a MediaTek Helio chipset. All in all, it is a move that can be appreciated.
The local pricing for this lineup is yet to be announced although it is expected to roam around a 30k price point.
