After last week’s rollout of link stickers for all users, Instagram has now introduced a new sticker called “Add Yours.” According to the company, this is a new way in which users can create public threads in Stories. Instagram notes that this is the first time it’s added a way for people to have their responses to Stories seen publicly in this format.

The sticker is designed to act as both a prompt for other people to upload their own Stories and a way for them to discover new people to follow. This is because the sticker, once tapped, lets everyone who has contributed to the thread and you can view their Stories from there.

“With custom prompts and public responses, you can share the sticker and see who responds to it in their own Stories,” Instagram said in a tweet.

The new feature can be accessed by selecting the sticker tool from the top navigation bar when you upload content for your Story. You then select the “Add Yours” sticker to start a public thread. You can also choose to respond to an “Add Yours” sticker by clicking on it and adding your own Story to take part in a chain.

This sticker might seem familiar to others as it resembles TikTok’s “duet” feature which allows users to create content featuring an original video. The one difference is that Instagram’s feature allows you to see everyone’s additional posts in the content chain in one place. On the other hand, TikTok currently doesn’t surface all of the duetted videos that were posted from an original TikTok in one place.
