The big day is finally here, the Apple “Peek Performance” event is happening today (March 8th) at 2100h Kenya Time (GMT +3). Apple’s launches at the beginning of the year are not as exciting as their fall events where they unveil iPhone models. This is what makes Apple profitable. There have been numerous rumours and potential leaks but what should we expect? Some rumours point to an upgraded version of the iPhone SE, iPad and MacBooks.
According to Bloomberg News, Apple is expected to drop an iPhone Se which supports 5G, a faster processor and improved cameras. This would make it the first update to the iPhone SE since 2020. There won’t be any changes in the design which means all changes will be internal. It is also rumoured that the SE could get the same A15 chip as the iPhone 13 which will bring increased performance.
Apple released their high-end iPad Pro and iPad Mini last fall. This leaves the iPad Air which is most likely getting an update. The most recent model has A14 Bionic chip, fingerprint sensor on the power button, 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display and 12 MP back camera with Focus Pixels and 7MP HD camera.
Apple could release a new version of the iPad Air with the same design but possible upgrades such as 5G support, improved cameras and upgrade to the mobile chip.
There are rumoured MacBook upgrades, like an updated version of the 13 inch MacBook Pro. The MacBook could possibly get the updated M2 chip. There are also rumoured designed changes for the MacBook Air-inclusive of a lineup of colour options like the iMac.
