For a while now we’ve been following Instagrams progress in the social media world and they have made quite the strides. With their new app, Threads, IGTV, dark mode and removing likes, Instagram and have been making statements all year round and they’ve now made another tweak to IGTV.
New Instagram Feature
We all know how long some Instagram videos can be and sometimes we want to reply to messages or keep scrolling but we cant. Well, now we can. In a seemingly final 2019 update, Instagram has added a ‘picture in picture’ mode for their IGTV. This basically means that you can now watch IGTV videos while looking at other pictures on Instagram. You don’t have to stop your videos anymore, you can watch and multitask.
The great thing about it is that it’s a system-wide feature. This means that it works all over the phone. Even when you close the Instagram app while watching the video, it will automatically resort to a picture in picture and you can use any other app while the video is playing.
How To Get and Use The Feature
- Update your Instagram app on the PlayStore or App Store
- Tap on the IGTV button on the top of your screen
- Choose video to watch
- On the top right, there should be a box with a tiny box inside. When you toggle that, it should automatically resize your video and let you see the rest of your screen
** The tiny screen is also movable and can be used with any app.
