The Samsung Galaxy Fold has given Samsung a headache more than the fiery Note7 ever did. After initial reviews of the Fold pointed to a potential design flaw, Samsung recalled all review units and issued a statement that they were going to delay the launch of the $2000 foldable phone until when they have addressed the issue.

At that time, Samsung said that they had identified issues with the display associated with impact on the top and bottom exposed areas of the hinge and also, instances, where substances were found inside the device, affecting the display performance. Samsung then promised to take measures to strengthen the display and thus postponed the launch of the device until further notice.

Now, Samsung has sent an email update to pre-order customers alerting them of the progress made with the Galaxy Fold. In the email, Samsung says that they are making progress in enhancing the Galaxy Fold but fail to give an expected time of arrival for the device.

Samsung goes ahead to inform the customers that they have the option of cancelling their pre-orders before the device is shipped, actually, Samsung says that if they will not have straighten out issues with the Fold and shipped it by May 31st, all pre-orders will be cancelled unless the customer explicitly requests Samsung to keep the order until when they are ready to ship.
