Huawei’s EMUI may not be the best OEM Android skin out there but any user of these devices can acknowledge that the new 9. 1 update is much better compared to the previous version.

With the company set to roll out the new update to as many of its devices as possible, reports originally claimed of the update coming to 49 devices, all this in an effort to improve the user experience. The Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20X, and the Mate 20 RS had already received a beta build of EMUI 9.1, while both the P30 Pro and P30 came with the full version pre-installed already.

The company then continues to push out the 9.1 updates to more devices with the promise of OTA notifications appearing globally in the next coming days.

The release timeline for the full EMUI 9.1 software release will be as follows:

June: P20 Lite, Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro / Mate 20 RS Porsche Design

July: P20 / P20 Pro, Nova 3 / 3i, P30 Lite, Mate 10 / 10 Pro / 10 RS Porsche Design, Mate 9 / Mate 9 Pro, Y9 2019, Y6 Pro 2019, Y5 2019

August: P10 / P10 Plus

According to XDA Developers, Huawei will also be releasing the EMUI 9.1 update to:

More to the insanely huge list of handset set to get the update, the company promises to have the new update uphold the concept of “Quality lifestyle” giving consumers more interesting features that include:

1. GPU Turbo 3.0 to make gaming a more fun experience with a more stable frame rate and a stronger endurance
2. The Google Assistant will be woken by long pressing the power button.
3. Improved Huawei OneTap share to make file and document sharing much faster.
4. Huawei Smart video editing that will help you edit your clips through AI.
5. Ability to customise your own video ringtone
