Threads Reaches 175 Million Users One Year After Launch

Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, announced that Threads, the company’s messaging app, has surpassed 175 million users just one year after its launch. This milestone highlights the app’s rapid growth and popularity.

Threads, designed to offer a more intimate and private messaging experience, has gained traction by focusing on close-knit communication among users. Zuckerberg attributed the success to continuous improvements and features that enhance user engagement.

The app’s impressive user base growth underscores Meta’s ability to innovate and expand its digital ecosystem, providing users with diverse ways to connect and communicate.

Although Threads has shown impressive growth based on the monthly data that has been released, this data provides only a limited picture of the app’s popularity. Key metrics such as the daily active user count and average time spent per user have not yet been released.

Threads’ success could be attributed to its integration with Instagram and consistent promotion on Instagram and Facebook.

When the app was launched last year, it immediately caught the attention of at least 10 million users, who signed up within just seven hours. Some of the first celebrities to join the platform included Jennifer Lopez, Shakira, Gordon Ramsay, Tom Brady, and Coldplay, as confirmed by Meta’s spokesperson.

Back then, Zuckerberg said in a post on the new platform that he hoped to see the Threads community grow to over one billion members.
