It’s been two months since the official release of PES 2020 for console and PC players. And even as the Japanese video game company, Konami, continues to wield its war against its rival, FIFA 20, it seems like Konami has a poker move hidden under its sleeve.

Thanks to the developers, we will now have a lite version of eFootball PES 2020 that is intended to be absolutely free. This could turn out to be a really good Christmas gift not only for its die-hard fans but also for anyone who hasn’t had the opportunity to try out the game.

The game dubbed PES 2020 LITE is set to be the same experience as the full game but will have the number of clubs available drastically reduced. This is, of course, understandable considering the huge finances that have to come with acquiring exclusive rights with these football clubs and teams.

Luckily, all these clubs will be available in offline Training Mode, but in the other offline the following clubs will be the only ones available:

  • FC Barcelona

  • Manchester United

  • FC Bayern

  • Juventus

  • Arsenal

  • Palmeiras

  • Flamengo

  • São Paulo

  • Corinthians

  • Vasco da Gama

  • Boca Juniors

  • River Plate

  • Colo-Colo

In addition, the following stadiums are available:

  • Allianz Arena (FC Bayern)

  • Allianz Parque (Palmeiras)

  • Neu Sonne Arena

In online play, players will be able to choose from all clubs and stadiums, just like people with the full version. LITE players will have access to offline Local Match, Co-op Match, Training Mode, and Edit Mode (PC and PS4 only). Online, players will be able to access myClub, Matchday, eFootball, eFootball Practice 1v1, and eFootball Practice Co-Op.
