The TECNO Camon series is the brand’s camera-centric lineup, which the brand also uses to play around with new designs and features.
The current Camon device, Camon 11, announced on September 2018 was the first to feature a gradient colour design from the company. The device was pretty neat and consumers welcomed it with open arms.
Now, the company has started teasing the launch of its successor, the TECNO Camon 12 and honestly, it looks like a more interesting device over the current flagship, Phantom 9.
The Changes
The first thing to note are the visual changes. The Camon 12 has a punchole display that houses the selfie camera which means that we no longer get the large notch that we had with the Camon 11 or the waterdrop notch we get with the Phantom 9.
There’s also a triple camera setup on the device, which most likely uses the same camera from the Phantom, which offered a standard lens, a 2x zoom lens and a wide-angle lens.
The display is rumoured to be 6.5-inches, hopefully, we get a 1080p panel as opposed to the 720p panel that we got with the 11.
Availability
Seeing that the Camon 11 was announced in September and hit stores in November, we should expect a similar trend with the TECNO Camon 12.
Last year, we got two variants of the Camon series, the Camon 11 and the Camon 11 Pro. From the leaks, it seems that we’re getting a Camon 12 and Camon 12 Air instead this year.
As for pricing, seeing that this is a mid-range device, we don’t expect to see anything higher than Kes.20,000 for the higher spec’d version of the Camon 12.
