Safaricom Home Fibre has been experiencing exemplary growth over the past few months as the service extends to reach even more people across the country, closing in on Zuku’s gap. To further push this growth, Safaricom has announced a partnership with ShowMax that will see home fibre subscribers access premium ShowMax features for a whole month if they renew their fibre subscription between 24th March and 15th May 2019.
Customers who renew their subscription within this period will receive a special link that will give access to ShowMax from up to 5 devices and allow them to stream from two devices simultaneously. After this period lapses, users have the option of paying for a ShowMax subscription for as low as Kes.250.
ShowMax in itself has been putting up a fight to counter the popularity of Netflix which saw a global expansion open the service to more people. In an effort to lure consumers, ShowMax has bagged a number of high-profile shows including Game of Thrones (whose eighth season starts on April 15th), Luther, The Good Wife and even Kenya’s Supa Modo alongside a myriad of other local shows.
“We are glad to partner with Showmax to bring a whole world of fun and entertainment to our customers. Our fibre service has continued to record strong demand to connect more homes as more families seek to take advantage of the different possibilities, from a wide selection of entertainment options, home security, to the ability to comfortably work from home. We remain keen on such partnerships in an effort to meet this demand,” said Sylvia Mulinge, Chief Customer Officer, Safaricom.
