Lovers of smartphones will be happy to know that the much-hyped Xiaomi Pocophone F1 has received its first price drop since in debut in Kenya. The device which launched in the country on December 18, 2018, at Kes.33,000 has been slashed to Kes.28,000.
This price cut comes after the first batch of devices ran out during the first week of sale. Back in December, Xiaomi Kenya brought in a total of 500 devices, there’s no word on how many devices are available this time around.
The Pocophone F1 has received international recognition due to its flagship specifications and affordable price tag, unlike the $1000 smartphones that we see popping up around. The Pocophone F1 has the following specifications:
- 6.18″ FHD+ Display
- Android 8.1 Oreo (upgradeable to Android 9.0 Pie)
- Snapdragon 845 Processor
- 6GB RAM + 64GB internal storage
- Dual 12MP + 5MP main cameras
- 20MP Selfie camera
- 4000mAh battery
To build on the hype surrounding the device, the Pocophone F1 interestingly beat a number of flagship devices in a camera blind test carried out by famous tech YouTuber Marques Brownlee. With a recommended retail price of $300 dollars, the current retail price of Kes.27,999 is even lower than this.
Xiaomi has not officially tagged this as an offer, so we don’t know if this is a permanent price cut or just a way to clear out the stock.
