Samsung Has Made a Vertical TV To Enlargen Your Smartphone Addiction

The Samsung Sero is a new 43-inch QLED TV by Samsung that can be watched Vertically. You read that right, a TV whose orientation is similar to that of your phone. Announcing this new product in Korea, Samsung claims that the Sero is designed to encourage young people to mirror their ph0nes onto the TV.

Technically, the Sero is just a normal TV that comes with a navy stand that allows it to change orientation from landscape (horizontal) to portrait (vertical) so don’t worry, you will not have to live with a big phone in your living room. True, the TV does look weird but come to think of it, it would serve very well seeing that all most of the content we enjoy on our phones is vertical.

To add to its already crazy idea of a TV whose orientation can change, Samsung says that the Sero can be used as a piece of furniture in the house or in other words, a piece of art since it can be used as a photo frame. On top of its new design, the Sero brings Samsung’s smart TV features including NFC and Bixby.

“Samsung will continue introducing screens that respect personal consumer tastes. We will think outside the box to bring different types of screens and different user experiences,” said Han Jong-hee, President of Visual Display Business at Samsung.

The Sero TV will be going on sale in South Korea by the end of May, for an equivalent of $1600, however, there’s no word whether this vertical TV will be making it to other markets.
