Google today announced the launch of YouTube Premium in Kenya. The launch brings its ad-free, background play, and offline viewing features to Kenyan users.

How Much Will YT Premium Cost?

For android users, YouTube Premium is available in Kenya for

• KES 499 per month for an individual plan
• KES 949 per month for a family plan. This includes up to five members. New subscribers can also enjoy a one-month free trial.
• Student Plan: KES 289

For iOS users, it’ll cost 300 shillings more as it’ll be priced in USD. Why? Well, because Apple has to take its cut, and Google won’t pay that cut for you. Payments as of now seem to only be via Google Accounts or credit or debit cards. There is still no way to pay via M-Pesa Global Card

In addition to ad-free viewing, background play, and offline viewing, YouTube Premium also includes access to YouTube Music. It offers ad-free music listening, background play, and offline listening.
