A Legacy of Nurturing African Talent

Since its inception in 2018, the MultiChoice Talent Factory has been at the forefront of developing and nurturing African talent. Each year, the program selects 60 students, providing them a platform to unleash their potential and pursue their dreams in the entertainment industry.

Participants in the MTF program are not only given the opportunity to sharpen their technical skills in areas such as cinematography, sound design, and editing, but they also gain invaluable insights into the business side of filmmaking. Through mentorship from some of the industry’s best minds, students learn about the intricacies of production, distribution, and marketing, preparing them for successful careers in the film and television industry.

Global Opportunities and Recognition

One of the standout features of the MTF program is the global opportunities it offers to top-performing students. Those who excel during the program have the chance to receive further training, mentorship, and internships with MTF’s prestigious global partners, including the New York Film Academy (NYFA) and the Indian-based platform Zee World. Additionally, students may have the opportunity to work on high-profile productions in South Africa, further enhancing their skills and expanding their professional networks.

Upon completion of the program, graduates receive an accredited and recognized qualification, and their work is showcased on MultiChoice platforms. This exposure not only highlights their talent but also provides them with a platform to share their stories with a broader audience.

Fostering Entrepreneurship and Economic Growth

In addition to fostering creative talent, MTF encourages an entrepreneurial spirit among its participants. The program empowers graduates to start their own projects and businesses, contributing to the growth of the African film industry and the broader economy. To date, thirty MTF alumni have registered their own production houses, creating employment opportunities and driving economic development in their communities.
