Barely two weeks after KCPE 2021/2022 results were released, the Form 1 selection has been done. With the disruption of the school calendar because of the pandemic, KCPE was done in March this year, rather than November last year. This year, the number of students who sat for the exam was approximately 1.2 million compared to 1.1 million in 2020.
Education CS Magoha announced that parents and candidates who sat the KCPE 2021/2022 can check their Form 1 selection remotely using SMS or on the Ministry of Education website.
For SMS , candidates are required to send only their index number to 22263. The cost is KES 25 per SMS.
In this year’s selection, 38,797 candidates are placed in national schools, 214,960 in extra county, 258,456 in county schools, 726,311 in Sub-county schools and 2,045 in special needs schools
Schools can also access a complete list of their candidates’ Form One selection by accessing the National Education Management Information System Nemis portal.
Form One students will be required to report to school on Tuesday, May 3, 2022.
