OPPO Kenya has launched a wildlife mobile photography competition with an aim of “supporting the continued revival of local tourism.” This is meant to generally encourage Kenyans to visit the national parks and game reserves.
The challenge will see the best three contestants take home KES 200k for the winners, KES 100k for the first runners-up and KES 50k for the second runners-up.
The competition will put the contestant’s photography skills into action, tasked to capture images of the beautiful Kenyan wildlife using a mobile phone. To submit your entry, you will need to follow OPPO Kenya social media handles on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, and post their images accompanied by the tags #OPPOWildlifeChallenge and #EveryEmotionInPotrait.
The challenge is also aimed at promoting the recently launched OPPO Reno6 5G smartphone that we have also reviewed.
“OPPO continues to innovate further to enable customers to record every precious moment as professional-looking portrait images and videos. The Reno6 5G for instance features a 64MP AI Triple Camera setup on the back and a 32MP Selfie Camera on the front. Additionally, it has a dedicated colour temperature sensor that captures colours more accurately.”
This is definitely a welcome concept at a time when the country’s tourism industry continues to suffer greatly amid the travel restrictions. However, it is Kenyans themselves who would be the closest source of the solution by visiting the various parks and reserves across the country.
Additionally, it could also be seen as an effort to promote mobile photography at a time when everyone can simply pull out a smartphone and capture memories.
