Out of all the rumours and leaks I was expecting, OnePlus was not one of them. The company usually launches their smartphones around May or June, so it is fair to say that its pretty early to be receiving leaks on the next OnePlus device.
Despite this, SlashLeaks has posted images of what is purported to be the next OnePlus phone, i.e., the OnePlus 7. The posted image shows a device that features a notchless and punch hole-less design with the screen extending to the edges of the phone leaving no room for a camera.
This design has led to the belief that the OnePlus 7 could adopt the slider mechanism we saw with the OPPO Find X and Recently, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3. Whether the slider will be automated or manual, remains a mystery so are other specifications of the device.
On top of these leaks, we already know that the OnePlus 7 will be powered by the Snapdragon 855 platform and we also know that there will be a more expensive 5G variant.
This leak is bare bones as that’s all we know for now but like I said, it’s pretty early and more information about the OnePlus 7 will be emerging soon. For now, take the image with a grain of salt as it could just be an early prototype, we might as well see the OnePlus 7 launch with a punch hole display and it won’t be that bad actually.
Here’s a fan-made render of how the OnePlus 7 would look like with the slider mechanism:
