Sony is reportedly working on its own PlayStation for PC launcher. This comes after data miners found references specifically to a PlayStation PC Launcher in Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered PC files. The files reported and verified by Video Games Chronicles confirm that Sony is working on PSN account integration, allowing users to link their PSN ID to PC within the games and unlock in-game bonuses. By introducing a PC launcher, Sony will be joining a growing list of companies like Rockstar Games, in making its own launcher separate from platforms like Valve’s Steam and Epic Games Launcher.
This isn’t the first sighting of a reference to the PlayStation PC Launcher. Back in May, there was a new job advertisement published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, seeking a director of project management specifically for ‘PC game experiences’ and one of the position tasks was listed as leading PSN platform integrations.
In the recent years, the biggest video game publishers including Microsoft, EA, Ubisoft and Rockstar Games have launched their own PC game launcher. Microsoft went a step further and introduced cross-buy, cross-play and cross-save functionality for some of its own Xbox exclusive games that work on both console and PC.

Sony haven’t made any official announcements on any PlayStation for PC launcher plans, however the company recently launched an official website dedicated to PlayStation PC games. They already rolled out Horizon Zero Dawn, Days Gone, God of War and Spider-Man Remastered all on PC in recent years. The next PlayStation games to arrive on PC are Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Unchartered: Legacy of Thieves Collection some time in 2022.
