Sora is an AI model developed by OpenAI. According to the company’s blog post, Sora can create complex scenes that include multiple characters, specific types of motion, and accurate details of both the subject and background. OpenAI also claims that Sora understands how objects exist in the physical world and can accurately interpret props while generating compelling characters that express vibrant emotions.

The Sora model can generate videos up to a minute long while maintaining visual quality and adherence to the user’s prompt, OpenAI said.

OpenAI has introduced a new GenAI model that can convert text into video, an area previously plagued by inconsistencies, following the release of ChatGPT in November 2022.

The new language model named Sora, developed by OpenAI still needs to be perfect and may still need help with complex prompts. Before making it available to the public, OpenAI plans to engage with security experts and policymakers to ensure that the system does not generate misinformation or hateful content, among other issues.
