CES 2020 may be well known for the craziest personal and home gadget concepts but the gaming world also gets some room here and there. With the week-long tech event being the biggest of the year, of course, you would expect a couple of manufacturers coming in to showcase their latest gaming gadgets. No console, however, has been or is expected to be unveiled yet, but there definitely have been some devices that would have you at least reaching out for your wallet.

So, here are some of the best so far:

Mobile Gaming Controllers- Razer Kishi

Razer is best known for specialising in esports and gaming hardware and they have lived up to both excellently over a couple of years now. Well, this time they decided to cater to mobile gamers. Mobile gaming is by now a global phenomenon. And with the constant growth that the industry has had over time, games on the platform have become more and more complex with time.

Talk of the emergence of PUBG, Fortnite, Call Of Duty Mobile among more that require players to hold multiple controls simultaneously. For that, Razer now has a controller that you can attach to your mobile phone and seamlessly play games.

According to Razer, the controller is universal, set to work with “most” smartphones including both iOS and Android devices. But even though we have seen similar controllers from other companies, it will be fun mostly for Razer fans to add this to their collection of gaming devices.

The controller is not chunky at all requiring you to attach it to the top and bottom of your phone. You could even say that you are converting your smartphone to a handheld console say, Nintendo Switch.

Moreover, the controller has a couple of interesting features pass-through charging ports that mean you can charge and game at the same time.

A Portable Gaming PC

You’ve heard of smartphones and handheld consoles but what if I told you that you can now have a portable gaming PC? I must admit that at first glance it is easy to dismiss the new concept that Alienware showcased as a mere Nintendo Switch copycat.

But according to the manufacturer, the prototype dubbed Concept UFO, is intended to be a portable gaming PC with detachable controllers.

PC tech has been getting so small over the years and we are at a point where it will be easy to have a tiny yet powerful device such as this one. It may be just a concept for now but you have to admit that it is a beauty. Will we be seeing this launched and produced in large scale? Only time will tell.

Gaming Laptop- ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14

According to ASUS, this is the “world’s most powerful 14-inch gaming laptop”. And while that may be absolutely up for debate, the Zephyrus G14 from ASUS is one of the most interesting laptops out there as of now.

This is mainly because the laptop boasts 1,215 individual mini LEDs on the rear panel that can be customised with personalised logos, gifs or even set to react to music. The G14 is also said to be thin and light while boasting the 4th gen AMD Ryzen CPUs and up to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 graphics card. As much as 10-hours battery life should make the G14 as useful as it is beautiful. I don’t know about you but on paper, that sounds quite impressive.

Asus has clearly taken CES as an opportunity to reveal several new products including this 24.5-inch gaming monitor with a 360Hz refresh rate. This might, unfortunately, mean that you have to own a really beefy PC in order to reap the true benefits of the high resolution and refresh rate but competitive gamers will definitely be having a blast with this one.
