vivo has today unveiled its latest Y-series smartphone in Kenya, the vivo Y21. Designed as a mid-range phone, the smartphone brand promises that the device delivers well “featuring high-end specs.”
The vivo Y21 packs a 5,000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging, filling up to 34% in just 30 minutes. According to vivo, the smartphone is designed to be lightweight with an 8.0mm design and 2.5D flat.
The device also features a 6.51 -inch HD Plus display with a resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels. This is powered up by a MediaTek Helio P35 chipset working alongside 4GB of RAM that comes with an extended 1GB RAM.
As for the cameras, the rear module features a 13MP main camera a 2MP wide lens. The camera software offers a number of features including Face Beauty, Filters, and Bokeh. Upfront lies an 8MP selfie camera.
The phone is priced at KES 16,999 in various stores across the country. This price tag is aimed at driving smartphone affordability inclusion in the country.
According to the Brand Manager Mr James Irungu, the brand seeks to bring quality products with fast focusing speed for all market.
“We seek to continue creating products with high performance and trendsetting design at an affordable price, vivo Y21 will be an exciting model that covers the key aspects yet affordable.’’
This launch comes about two months after the launch of the vivo V21. The smartphone would definitely be described as a more advanced device compared to the Y21 from the specs list and obviously the much higher price.
